During her residency, author Jean Zimmerman will return to Catwalk to revise her forthcoming memoir, Heartwood, Woundwood, and Ladytrees: An Accidental Arborist Finds Joy and Courage in the Tree World (Broadleaf Books, 2026). The book traces her journey from writer to Certified Arborist, exploring personal reinvention, the cultural history of American forests, and her experience living with ALS—a story meant to offer strength and connection to others facing serious illness.
