Francesca Spiegel a writer, and previously attended Catwalk in 2023 as part of a project team rewriting the 1960s game show Queen For a Day. She’s published several book-length works and sprawling essays, but 2025 is her “year of being brief.” She’s challenged herself to write 52 short pieces, in a performative writing project called Brevity is the River of the World. Through it, she probes forms of relationality between long and short texts: How do small works relate to big and medium-sized works of literature?
