Catwalk Institute proudly welcomes Katreana Bellew, a writer and filmmaker who will develop her first novel, Babyfat, an exploration of substance abuse and violence in small-town America, during her residency.

Katreana Bellew is a writer and filmmaker who graduated in 2024 from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing program. While still in school, she produced her first feature film, Broken Pieces, and is now producing a slate of films through her company, Karuzel. During her time at the Catwalk Residency, she will be working on her first novel, Babyfat — an exploration of the violence that stems from substance abuse in small-town America.

Catwalk Institute proudly welcomes Adrian Einspanier, an acclaimed playwright and educator whose work explores contemporary life, identity, and collective action through bold and thoughtful storytelling.

Adrian Einspanier

Adrian Einspanier is a playwright and educator whose work explores contemporary relationships, labor, identity, and social dynamics. Their plays include Lunch Bunch, produced by PlayCo and Clubbed Thumb, House Plant, a Lambda Literary Award finalist, I forgot to tell you, and DEBT, co-written with reid tang. A current member of Primary Stages’ Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group, Adrian teaches at NYU Tisch, the National Theater Institute, and Sewanee Writers’ Conference. During residency, Adrian is developing a commissioned play about grocery store workers organizing a labor union in its earliest stages.
