Monica Ferrell is a writer and will be editing a novel, which is to be her second, an exploration of women's experience of time and certain currents in this political moment. Happily, two-thirds of the novel is set in the Catskill region (partially in the town of Catskill itself), so she is excited to draw in sensory details that she will be experiencing at Catwalk.
Catwalk Institute proudly welcomes Vivian Wu, a cellist and educator focused on music by underrepresented composers. At Catwalk, she will collaborate with Lynn Yu to curate and record a new anthology of cello works by women composers.

Vivian Wu is a cellist, music educator and recent graduate of the Mannes School of Music, where she earned her master’s degree in cello performance. A first-time Catwalk resident, Vivian is passionate about expanding the cello repertoire through the works of historically underrepresented composers. During her residency, she will collaborate with pianist/composer Lynn Yuto research, edit, and curate a collection of cello works by women composers, including original pieces and newly arranged adaptations. The project will culminate in a performance-ready anthology and accompanying recordings, laying the foundation for future publication and wider educational use.

Lynn Yua first-time Catwalk resident, Lynn will collaborate with cellist Vivian Wu to research, edit, and curate an anthology of cello works by women composers—featuring original compositions and new adaptations. Their project will culminate in a performance-ready collection and high-quality recordings, designed to broaden the repertoire and serve as a resource for educators, performers, and students alike. Lynn’s residency builds on her commitment to amplifying historically underrepresented voices in classical music.

Ivana Carman
Ivana Carman work explores the space between representation and abstraction through luminous color and layered techniques. A graduate of Columbia University (MFA) and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA), she has exhibited widely and been featured in ArtForum, New American Paintings, and Create! Magazine. During her residency, Carman will focus on plein-air landscape painting, attuning to subtle shifts in light and atmosphere to explore how perception, place, and technology intertwine.

Emily Ann Hoffman (she/her) is a multidisciplinary filmmaker, animator, artist and Assistant Professor at NYU, Tisch. She works across live action and animated media to create films that explore sexuality, gender and intimacy through poignant comedy. While at Catwalk, Emily will be working on The Feeling of a Body - a screenplay for a stop motion animated feature film. The Feeling of a Body explores bodily autonomy through a body swap allegory and investigates what it feels like to have a queer and pregnancy-capable body in a world that continues to restrict our autonomy.

Paula Lycan is a New York–based artist and educator working in photography and traditional darkroom practices. Her portraiture explores relationships, memory, and tenderness, and her current work combines landscape and collaborative portraiture in the Hudson Valley. An Adjunct Assistant Professor of Photography at Columbia University, Paula has exhibited at The Jewish Museum and the International Print Center New York, with work in the Mead Art Museum’s collection. She has held residencies with Far Rockaway Artists Alliance, Hercules Art Studio, and The Residency Project. Originally from Florida and raised in California, she holds a BA from UC Santa Cruz and an MFA from Columbia University.
