Jonah King’s Honey Fungus Expands International Reach
Catwalk Institute proudly shares that artist Jonah King (Catwalk 2016) has had a remarkable season, with his immersive project Honey Fungus featured in New York’s Neuromantics event, exhibited at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, and screened internationally at festivals including Ji.hlava, the Maryland Film Festival, VR Fest Mexico City, the Miami Tech Summit at Art Basel, and more—earning Best Virtual Reality Project from Digital Arts Zurich. King also published a new essay in Millennium Film Journal, co-directed the AI and XR symposium Synthetic Narratives, presented new work with his collective Blockbusters at the Museum of the Moving Image, and was featured by Design Observer, NPR, and the Associated Press for his contributions to immersive and AI-driven art.

Natalie Beall Exhibits at Untitled Art Fair Miami Beach & Hudson Valley Shows

Natalie Beall is presenting new work with Morgan Lehman Gallery at Untitled Art Miami Beach, Booth C29, on view December 2–7. Featured in the presentation is Utility Suite (Pleate) (2025), a paper-and-adhesive work documented by Pierre Le Hors. Closer to home, Natalie’s work is also included in A Gnawing Thought, opening December 6 at Utopia in the Hudson Valley. Curated by Mandolyn Wilson Rosen, the exhibition features 18 New York–based artists whose works explore asymmetry, tension, and subtle shifts that resist binary structures.
Rounding out the season, Natalie will participate in the GLÖGG Glogg Artist Pop-Up Sale in Woodstock, NY, December 12–14. She will offer several 8 x 6 inch collage studies—including Utility Suite Study (Pellette) (2025)—available both onsite and online at special holiday pricing.

E.B. Bartels’s book Good Grief: On Loving Pets, Here and Hereafter—first published in hardcover in 2022—has just been released in paperback on November 11, 2025 by Mariner Books (HarperCollins). This new edition brings her heartfelt exploration of pet loss and love to an even wider audience.
E.B. credits her 2018 Catwalk residency as the place where the very first chapters of Good Grief began, written in the attic tower while reflecting on her beloved dogs, fish, and birds.

Rona Siddiqui Celebrates Major Awards, Off-Broadway Debut, and Broadway Succes
Rona Siddiqui
Rona has had an extraordinary creative trajectory since 2018. Their work has received major recognition, including a Grammy nomination, Kleban Prize, Jonathan Larson Grant, Mark O'Donnell Prize, Billie Burke Ziegfeld Award, ASCAP Harold Adamson Lyric Award, and an Obie Award.
They made their Off-Broadway debut as composer/lyricist with Hip Hop Cinderella at the New Victory. Their show THE BROWN MUSICAL: A New Brown Musical (formerly Salaam Medina: Tales of a Halfghan) continues development with a two-week movement workshop at Playwrights Horizons’ New Works Lab and a concert at 54 Below.
Jennie Allen’s Co-Written Film “11” Set for 2026 Release
Catwalk proudly shares that alumna Jennie Allen (Catwalk 2019) co-wrote the feature film 111 with director Mauro Mueller. The film, a co-production between Swiss company C-Films and Canada’s Auguste Content, is now in post-production and slated for release in early 2026.

Margaret Hawkins Reimagines Her Memoir
Catwalk Institute proudly celebrates writer and educator Margaret Hawkins (Catwalk 2012) whose acclaimed memoir How We Got Barb Back is being reissued by Lived Places Publishing as a textbook for disability studies and a new bookstore edition titled At Home With Schizophrenia.
Hawkins also writes for The Democracy Chain and Visual Art Source, with recent work in The Missouri Review, Brevity, Bridge, Minerva Rising Press, and Lover’s Eye Press. She teaches creative writing at Loyola University and art writing at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

The publication of his debut novel, In Our Likeness (Little A, September 2024). The book follows a tech worker whose discovery about an AI truth-detecting algorithm spirals into questions of reality, identity, and what it means to be human in the digital age. In Our Likeness has earned nearly 4,000 Amazon ratings, praise from outlets including Gizmodo, The Millions, and Bookshop.org, and endorsements from writers such as Fareed Zakaria, Max Ludington, and Aaron Hamburger. VanDyke’s nonfiction has also appeared in Time, LitHub, and Pacific Standard, further cementing his voice as a powerful cultural commentator.

Anne Elizabeth Moore
Accomplishments of alum Anne Elizabeth Moore, who has made remarkable strides since her residency. Her memoir Gentrifier (Catapult, 2022) was named an NPR Best Book, and her expanded essay collection Body Horror: Capitalism, Fear, Misogyny, Jokes was released with Feminist Press in 2023. Her first novel, completed while writer-in-residence at Colby College, is now heading out on submission. Beyond the literary world, Moore also founded Tinkertown Provisions, a Catskills-based craft hot sauce company that channels the same bold creativity found in her writing.

We are thrilled to celebrate Catwalk alum Jean Zimmerman on the upcoming publication of her memoir Heartwood, Woundwood, and Ladytrees: An Accidental Arborist Finds Joy and Courage in the Tree World (Broadleaf, Fall 2026).
In this powerful work, Jean shares how she discovered serenity and hope through the world of trees after facing two life-transforming challenges: first, reinventing her livelihood under difficult circumstances, and later, navigating the profound trials of ALS. Her writing intertwines resilience, nature, and human courage, offering readers a deeply moving exploration of healing and transformation.

The show runs from September 11 – October 12, 2025, and presents dynamic work exploring the intersections between the animal and human experience in contemporary art.
Nathan Hall: From a new album to Denver Art Museum and more
Catwalk Institute proudly congratulates Nathan Hall on an incredible series of accomplishments since his residency with us. Nathan has earned his doctorate, gotten married, and is now teaching music composition at the University of Denver.
We’re thrilled to share that Nathan recently released his first album in almost a decade, Greenland Diary. This fall, he will create ambient soundscapes for the major Impressionism exhibition at the Denver Art Museum. Nathan is also a Resident Artist at RedLine Center for Contemporary Art and will present a solo show at Joshua Tree National Park featuring graphic scores inspired by his desert residency.
